Back To The River
I
went back to the river today
And remembered...
The rower's hollow dart,
Wooden wing tips clipping waves.
No need to rush
Our days away
In crushing trains to graves.
I lost myself in the river today
And remembered...
The Black Moon, beers
Up on the bridge,
Bats chasing the sun.
Away, away, my life escapes
Through all the things I've done.
I drowned a little in the river today,
And remembered...
Sad words raining black,
Moods paining,
Dreams drifting away.
The rush and the flow
Of the dark river comes
And goes and leaves
What it may.
