20-10 Vision
In 10 years from today
I'll be 54 or more
Won't have been that old before
Won't have seen my hair so grey
With my 20-20 vision
Fading gently with the years
Will my eyes be blurred by tears
Or glinting still in self-derision
10 and 20 year-old kids
Will bear witness to times of folly
Squints at mistletoe and holly
Through half-century eyelids
From the year of 20-10
The future's past yet makes me smile
As I muse alone awhile
And throw some thoughts at life again
