Oh Brother !
Oh Mister!
I’ve never had a Sister before…
What on Earth should I do with her?
Should I offer her promises,
Open my arms?
Show her my toys
Or hint at my charms?
Return her love
Coz she’s given me hers?
Accept this stranger?
Sound the alarms?
Oh Mother!!
I’ve never had a Brother before…
What on Earth should I do with him?
Should I order him seat belts,
Crash helmets of gold?
This innocent soul,
So carefree and bold.
He’d laugh at my worries,
And kiss me, and laugh,
But I don’t want to mourn,
I want him to grow old.
Oh my Life!!!
I’ve never had a Wife before…
What on Earth should I do with her?
Should I fly her, my kite, lightly,
Floating the breeze,
My other-world butterfly,
Flitting with ease…
And should the strings slip
From my butter-fingers
Will she rise to the stars
As I sink to my knees,
Or drift back to my arms
In the gathering dusk
With a smile and a wink
And a reprimand brusque
That I could have doubted
Her passion and flame
Carried over the wind
By the jasmine and musk.
