Crazy Horses

It's the water that makes this shot of course, otherwise it could easily be just another boring shot of some horse statues. The water introduces the unpredictable element of nature, the drama, the thunderstorm and... gives the animals a reason to be so agitated - after all, no-one likes getting pissed on all the time, isn't that right? They must have had their fill, I reckon.

The trick, or at least what I almost always try to do, is add something to the most obvious shot you could take. It doesn't matter what it is - could be a little boy standing looking at the main subject, or an unusual frame or some other concoction, but if you don't make an effort to do something to what you see in front of you, the shot will often enough be quite simply without interest. There has to be a story and there has to be a connection between the different elements of the picture.
