Grabbed
this as part of a journalistic stroll looking for street names
evoking working class professions of times gone by.
Found rue de la
Ferronnerie (iron-workers' street) but wasn't expecting this
crazy rainbow of colours, much more interesting than the street
itself.
It's one of the the
gaiest streets in Paris, bordering the heart of the Marais in
the soon-to-be-redeveloped Les Halles district.
While I was soberly
seeking hints of heinous crimes past, such as the multiple
stabbing, in this congested street, of King Henry IV in his
traffic bound carriage by Ravaillac there's a plaque to
commemorate it and everything...
Up crept the Banana
Café, an' blew my breath away! |
