"Repetition,
Love... Repetition"
Gritty, grainy, down-right dirty metro shot... yeah!
And although the
powers-that-be might like us to think that the Paris metro is
squeaky-clean and crystal white, it's not always the case.
Just who is that rucksacked
rambler slipping so swiftly out of lens-shot, hotly pursued by
varying thicknesses of lines blue, and... blue?
Curiously, blue seems
to be the only colour (apart from black and white) in this
grimy image. And not entirely coincidentally, we have two
versions of blue lines nicely complementing each other.
I've heard Metro
aficionados saying that the stations on individual lines in
Paris are colour-coded. Although it's sometimes difficult to
believe, in this case it's quite obvious, and a useful
feature for the photographer looking for one of the most
powerful of all photographic techniques: repetition.
